‘God on the Phone’ is the 3rd single from an upcoming second album , together with ‘Outside Looking In’ and ‘Come the Rain’ , they offer a glimpse into the full length record which is a follow up to my debut album ‘Prophecy’ released last year .
This whole album was again very introspective in its forming and is really a musical expression of a Spiritual journey , which started for me 10 years ago , a path I still walk today .
‘God on the Phone’ is really as religious as it gets for me , I have a great belief in something more than us , but not in a traditional religious sense . It’s a song about finding light in the darkness , not darkness in the cliched sense of all that seems wrong in the world , darkness is more than that , it’s the fact we don’t know what tomorrow holds , yesterday is really the only visibility we have and that’s open to interpretation . To find light is really to find hope that whatever tomorrow holds it will be ok . We all walk in the darkness really , we create narratives of great certainty to convince ourselves that we don’t , but that’s all a mirage , the only real light we can attain is one of hope .
